Should You Still Learn to Code?
Best practices for "vibe coding"
Welcome to Gratitude Driven, a weekly newsletter where I share practical ideas and insights across personal growth, professional development, and the world of AI and data science.
In This Newsletter
The Future of My YouTube Channel
Most of you follow me on YouTube for my technical content.
But when I first had the idea to start a YouTube channel, I actually wanted to share more about doing your best in all areas of life. Some of that is about productivity and study skills, but more than that it’s about mindset, physical health, and even relationships.
As I’ve done more technical content, it started to feel out of place to make a video about meditating or happiness. I started to feel myself becoming resistant to taking risks with content because that can affect sponsorships if I’m too off-topic. Or it could alienate new viewers who come for non-technical stuff when I do a deep dive on a niche technical thing.
So, I’m just going to have two channels moving forward!
My current channel will remain the technical content, and my new one will be more on success in other areas of life.
This newsletter will remain the same, and will continue to include both technical and non-technical posts.

Should You Still Learn to Code?
A perspective that comes up a lot in the comments on my videos is that there’s no point learning to code, since AI can do it for you now.
When someone says this, I am quite confident that they don’t have the full picture.
Yes, AI coding agents these days are impressive. But a lot of the progress has been very surface-level; The AI is fast, and can help you build an MVP very quickly, but if you don’t have sufficient knowledge about software development, there’s a strong chance whatever you build is going to be a big mess.
That’s what this week’s video is about: What happens when you let AI build an app for you?
I also included best practices for vibe coding in this video, because while AI agents can’t do our jobs yet, this is definitely a tool you should be getting good at using, since it will be part of our workflows for the foreseeable future.
