10 AI/ML Side Hustles You Can Start Today - Feat. Egor Howell!

I am so excited for this week’s video! It’s a collaboration with another YouTuber, Egor Howell.

We discuss 10 ways that you can make money with your data science/AI/ML skills outside of a full time job.

The goal was to help those who maybe are still trying to get their first job, or are between jobs. I think there’s some really good stuff here!

What I Do When I Don’t Want to Go To The Gym

I can honestly attribute a lot of my professional success over the last decade to being highly consistent with my fitness routine. But despite almost 10 years of going to the gym 5-6 days a week, sometimes I still REALLY don’t want to go.

Here are some things that have helped me when my brain tries to talk me out of it.

  1. Routine

This is the biggest one. I wake up at the same time every single day, even on the weekends. My routine is very consistent: Wake up, take care of kittens, meditate, workout. Every day.

Ninety-nine percent of the time, I’m already on my way to the gym before I realize I don’t want to go, just because it’s so automatic.

  1. Music

There is NOTHING that gets me amped for the gym like music. I can be having a really shit morning, and turning on something with the right vibe can help me get in the zone.

I like working out to anything with a beat: Metal, hip hop, girl-at-the-club music, industrial — just find what works for you.

  1. Make it Social

There are a couple of fitness classes I go to. This can help get me out of the door because folks will ask where I was if I miss too long, and I get FOMO when they post the workouts afterwards and I wasn’t there.

  1. Try Something New

I exclusively lifted weights for exercise for many years. There was variety in that sometimes it was powerlifting and sometimes body building, but that’s it.

Nowadays, I still lift weights, but I do a mix of Olympic lifting, Strongman, hypertrophy, and powerlifting, and I also run, do plyometrics, and some pilates. Sometimes I am not in the headspace for a one-rep max, but I can get myself to go and jump around or do skill work.

Being flexible about what you do at the gym but not if you go to the gym can make a huge difference over the long term.

  1. Be Grateful

If I was sick or injured and couldn’t get out of bed, I would want nothing more than to be in the gym. Every day that you have a body capable of movement should be celebrated.
